Good Old Fashion School House - Remember Whensday

Built in 1875. Currently being used as a private residence. That's a good thing - at least it isn't falling down only to disappear. However, I do wonder about the turquoise door. I went to a two room school house like this for grades K-6. Brings back a lot of memories - we had to walk to school, up hill, both ways, in all kinds of weather - for real!

  1. We have a number of renovated school houses in our region. I would like to see inside of them some time. I kind of like the turquoise door.

  2. LOL, "up hill both ways" sounds like my Dad's Wisconsin story.

Love the old brick school house and am glad someone lives in it to keep it from falling apart.

  3. That's a very nice looking one and I'm glad it is still used! We have a few brick ones around here that have become houses, too and I wonder how they look inside. Most 1-room schools that I've seen are frame and no longer in good shape.

  4. How nice to see the old school being recycled! This looks to be in quite good condition.

  5. I love this! Especially the turquoise door. I think it is great to see old buildings being used for purposes other than the original intent.
