Sunflowers - MyWorld Tuesday

What a wonderful time of the year! Crops are maturing and getting ready to be harvested. Fields of sunflowers and not common in this part of the state. They make me smile - all of their little faces seem to be looking in one direction.

Roadside Farmer's Market - MyWorld

We came across a roadside produce/flower stand recently. The local farmer sells his homegrown vegetable and fresh cut flowers in a roadside stand in addition to taking their products to market. I couldn't resist taking a picture with the tractor and windmill. Enjoy

Standing on the Corner.......

This weekend there was a lot going on in southern Michigan. The Woodward Dream Cruise in Detroit for one thing. Sixteen miles of cruisin'. Friday night we headed for Woodward Avenue along with thousands of other people. It was a great night for "Standing on the Corner - Watchin' All the Cars Go By." I guess that dates me. What a site. All those muscle cars. All I can say is "Boys and their toys". This antique has been in my cousin's family for many years - which makes it special.

MIS SkyWatch Friday

This is the sky over MIS (Michigan International Speedway) earlier this summer. The big race is this weekend. I purposely kept the buildings in the foreground dark so they wouldn't distract from the sky. Enjoy.

Room With A View

Wouldn't this be a great view in the morning? The sun coming up and the birds singing. Just a reminder that there is someone bigger than all of us - and he has a plan. Enjoy your day and make the best of it.

Whats Behind the Back Door?

Another find in a back alley. I guess I should take more time to peak in those behind the scenes places. Obviously somebody enjoys being close to nature and is making the best of their situation. What a great place to go for a retreat from the rest of the world - and get lost in your thoughts while enjoying a cup of coffee. Have a great day!

You Rang? MyWorld Tuesday

This past weekend along US12 you could garage sale to your heart's content. All the way from Detroit to Chicago (mostly in the middle of the state). We found this interesting exhibit in a garage somewhere near Jonesville. Besides the interesting old telephones, look closely and you will see the old glass electric insulators.

Living on the Sunny Side

I found this floral arrangement in a back alley. I myself would hate living in the city, but for those who do - they have creative ways of bringing life to an otherwise gloomy place. This special spot has flowers year 'round!

Trouble a Brewin SkyWatch Friday

This was a late afternoon storm that came in very quickly over Daytona Beach earlier this year. I converted it to B and W because I couldn't resolve the problem with the color. The sky was dark and blue while the water was greenish - it seemed to clash. I am just learning about how to process B and W. I am open for comments and suggestions.

Follow The Yellow Brick Road

This was an interesting exhibit at the 4-H fair last week. The kids must have had great fun putting it together. It wasn't a surprise that it won "Best in Show" Dorothy would have been proud!

Barbershop Tribute

I found this darling "little" beauty shop on US12 in Clinton last week. It caught my eye because of the barber pole on the outside, along with the red-white-& blue flowers in the window boxes. The reason I said "little" is because the building is only 8 feet wide! It is squashed between two full size buildings in the main shopping area. While I was taking a picture the owner came out and invited me inside. She shared a great story - her father had been a barber and she had his mug collection on display, along with other pictures and memorabilia. What a great tribute to her father - she was following in his footsteps.

MyWorld - Take Me Out To A Movie

Another picture from Clinton, Michigan, a small rural town on US12. This is a great old movie house, where you can see fairly new movies for $3.00. It's been remodeled recently - congratulations to the owners for saving an historic building and many memories.

High Style - Horse Fashion

Even horses are concerned about fashion. Notice the color coordinated leg wraps, bridle, and martingale. This young rider also coordinates by wearing a pink shirt. (Her mother and sister also had on pink shirts). What a great experience for the kids!
