Feed to Food - SkyWatch Friday

Have you ever wondered how your food gets to your table? Somewhere out there a farmer works 7 days a week, through all kinds of weather so that you can have food on your table. Last weekend it was bitter cold. This farmer was getting feed out of the silo to give to the animals. This silo stands alone, the barn that was attached is now gone. I am grateful to these hard working folks.

  1. That farmhouse in the background looks large. Maybe the rewards for all his hard works are nice?

  2. This is in fact a large house. It was built in the late 1800s when multiple generations lived under the same roof. Whenever they could afford, seperate but connected living quarters were provided for each generation. There were often 3 generations, living and working on the same farm. In this day and age this situation doesn't occur very often. Which is unfortunate, to my way of thinking.

  18. That construction is very interesting. Great picture, the thing that catches my eye is the building in the background, looks 100% the same as some of our Flemish farms.
