A River Runs Thru It - Sky Watch Friday

Albion is an old historic town in southern Michigan. The main street thru the historic district is paved with brick. We came to a spot about half way thru down town and noticed on the left side that a river was coming out from under the road - however on the right there were what appeared to be normal old stores. So we went around on the back street and sure enough as you can see here, the river goes under the road and the stores were built over the road. Amazing.

  2. I agree with Dimple, I love the contrast of color and texture as well as the grumpy, gray skies! They do make a great background for your shot! Hope you have a great weekend, Gwendolyn!

  5. Your postprocessing treatment is fantastic. I thought for sure this was in Europe, it just has that feel.

  6. Is that an HDR effect? The vibrant orange and red colors on the buildings look really stunning!

  10. I was wondering about the processing as well - it's a lovely image in composition and color!
Looks like it could have been taken in another time and era.
    Lovely!

  11. Thank you everyone for your comments. No this is NOT an HDR. I used Photoshop and several layers to increase the contrast overall especially in the clouds. The reflections just fell in step with the others stuff without any special effort. The brick building was red, however, it does seem to have gotten more so in the processing. I'm still learning. Thanks for stopping by. Gwen
