Storm front coming in. It's a good thing - the beans needed watering. But hold on, we didn't need so much rain in such a short time. Just another reminder that we aren't in control. For more SkyWatch photos from around the world click here.

Do you remember when barn boots were plain ol' black and cost less than $10.00? Today on a rainy day on campus you can see a variety of these stylish foot gear....you can have your own for around $100.00. Wouldn't our pigs and cows have a smile on their face if we showed up in these!
Art Fair was last week in Ann Arbor. These chairs were all set up and ready. Seems like somebody already tried them out. I was going to remove the coke cup, but then I realized that it went with the vending machine in the back.
This is such a beautiful time of the year. The fields are all different colors and from a distance it looks like a patchwork quilt. Golden fields of oats and wheat, green fields of hay and beans. What a wonderful day it is. Let us rejoice and be glad in it!
Lines of Communication are important in all walks of life. I think this photo shows this to be a true. Good horse handlers have to be experts. Sometimes communicating means listening. Notice the ears on this horse - he is listening. He too is communicating. Verbal and non-verbal communication's skills are a must when you are working with over 1000 pounds!
This means that summer is more than half gone.
The Day Lilies are still in bloom. These guys live next to the pine trees, which I think makes a nice contrast in color and texture.
We had the opportunity to go see the horses again this weekend. Notice all 4 feet off the ground! What athletes these animals are.
This foal was so cute. What you can't tell is that he is a miniature and only comes a bit above my knees. I wonder what you would do with one so tiny?
This past weekend was so exciting for me. I finally got to see the Lipizzan stallions perform in an outdoor arena - which allowed me to photograph close up. The trainers were so wonderful, and allowed us to take as many pictures as we wanted. It was so hard to pick one picture, but I kind of liked this one because the rider snuck a glance at me and smiled for the camera. Day Lilies grow wild in our ditches along the side of the road. They seem particularly beautiful this year. Maybe my aging eyes have just learned to stop and enjoy the common thing as it passes by.
