What is over the hill? For more SkyWatch photos from around the world click here.
I found this wonderful scene in the loft of an old barn being used as a museum. Apparently these items did not fit into the current theme. I really liked the way the natural light worked in this photo. It lit the beams in the roof as well as the old saddle and grinding wheel.
As we came over the hill we were reminded that there are two choices -which world would we want to live in. On the right, we have a modern farmer with high tech equipment and new buildings - perhaps his debt load is high. On the left, is a farmer who makes due with what he has. Which is better? Both get the same result in a totally different way. I wonder which one sleeps better at night?
There was an antique tractor show this weekend near Adrian. It is always fun to see the old tractors at work - sawing wood, thrashing grain and more. I have been to these shows many times, but this time I decided to try and see the tractors and events in a more artistic perspective. I'll share them with you over the next few weeks as I get them processed.
Here is another barn that we found hiding in the country on a old gravel road. We don't often see such interesting structures being built any more.
Our part of the state still has a number of these little white Churches still being used. Most of these church were built in the 1800's. We try to stop and take a picture of each one, so that it will go on living forever. This one was "modernized" with a handicap ramp. Probably because the population is growing older. I am glad to see that it is still being well cared for.
We found this old truck while searching off the beaten path for a garage sale. I don't know anything about this vehicle - mostly because I'm not a car/truck/tractor person - Greg is. I just thought it was nice that someone would spend the time and money to restore an old vehicle like this - so that the next generation will experience the "oldies but goodies!"
