Seasonal House

This lady is really into seasonal landscaping.  Her landscaping gets more and more interesting with each passing year.  She changes it to go along with the season.  I wonder if she knows how much we appreciate her talent?

Mail Box Project

Greg and I started a personal project this summer.  We are going to put together a book on mailboxes - new, old, unique, pretty, ugly, etc.    This one comes under the "unique" category.  I just couldn't wait to share this one.  In case you can't see it - the arm holding up the mail box has a continuous waterfall coming out of it.  The water recirculates and is constantly running all summer long.  It is just the first of many curious things in his yard, including a full size waterfall that runs down a reflecting mirror into a pool that circles around the outside bar, with stools in the water and a fireplace in the center of the bar..........yipes, can you imagine if you had a drink or two?  Seems like too much time or money......but it was fun to look at!

Great Day To Be Alive SkyWatch Friday

Haven't seen blue sky for a couple of weeks now, so I had to go back a couple of weeks for this photo.  Soon it will all be just memories.

Out and About

I had the camera one morning and grabbed this shot.  What a great place to just relax and enjoy nature, water, and man made all in one place.

Fall Retreat

What a gorgeous fall we had this year.  I didn't get to photograph as many fall colors as I would have liked, however, I did manage to capture this bridge in the Botanical Gardens.  I'll keep this memory in my mind as we enter into the dreaded winter.

Tis The Season !

This big guy is guarding the pumpkin patch.  What fun he is having watching all the cars go by.  Some even stop to admire his plumage.   He is definitely one of a kind.

This weekend we attended an interesting field trip to the city of Detroit.  One of our stops was on Belle Isle.  It just didn't fit my expectations to see a horse and rider galloping along the water front.  It served to remind me to be careful with stereotyping.  Oh by the way, this picture was taken by Greg.  I missed this shot, because I was enjoying the unusually warm weather sitting on the park bench and didn't turn around to see the horse go by until it was too late.

Remember When....

Don't you just love the lines on these old cars!  They just don't make 'em like they used to.
