The Desert in Bloom

Apparently there was a small amount of snow about 6 weeks previous, causing the desert to come alive.  We felt blessed to see such splendor.

The End of The Line

We found many "unmarked" graves in the desert in west Texas.  The ground is very hard and many miles from a settlement.  I can only imagine how difficult it was to bury a fallen comrade - leaving later generations to wonder about the story of the person buried beneath the stones.

Home Sweet Home

An early homesteader settled in this remote location (now inside of  Big Bend National Park) and raised his family in this house.  He died in 1947 at 108 years of age.  He outlived several wives, children and grandchildren.
